Academic Liaison in Solidarity

Based in Canada and operating globally, the PSSAR Network is a registered non-profit dedicated to preserving Palestinian academic life. We identify exceptional Palestinian graduate students and scholars, breaking down systemic barriers to connect them with fully funded research, master’s, and PhD opportunities at world-class institutions worldwide

What We Do

PSSAR safeguards Palestinian academic capital by focusing entirely on advanced education. We bridge the gap between crisis zones and global academia by connecting high-achieving Palestinian graduate students with fully funded research and degree positions. Our work is anchored in institutional solidarity, ensuring that financial barriers never compromise intellectual potential.

Academic Placement

We match high-achieving Palestinian students with professors and graduate programs, primarily in Canada, through academic networks and institutional partnerships.

Note: All admissions and funding decisions are made by host institutions.

Non-Academic Support

We assist with barriers such as:

  • Application and visa fees
  • Housing and settlement referrals
  • Mental health resources

Why Action is Required

The destruction of Palestinian educational institutions threatens a generation of scholars, researchers, and leaders. PSSAR exists to ensure their knowledge, voices, and potential are not lost, but amplified on the global stage.

The PSSAR Vision

We don’t support brain drain; we support academic return. Every placement helps build capacity in Palestinian higher education:

  • Research tied to community needs
  • International academic collaborations
  • Mentorship and leadership development
  • Reintegration into Palestinian universities

A Call to Academics

The crisis in Gaza is also an academic emergency.

Universities, labs, and scholars worldwide can make a difference by opening their doors to displaced students and early-career researchers.

Study Permit Advocacy

PSSAR is actively advocating for over 70 Palestinian students who have been accepted into graduate programs across Canada but now face severe visa delays. Many have cleared eligibility checks yet remain stuck in extended background checks due to their origin in Gaza.

Without urgent processing, they risk losing their funded offers. This is a solvable, limited-scale issue with a clear precedent. We’re calling for dedicated attention from Canadian officials to help move these files forward.

Discover the comprehensive scope of visa challenges and our efforts in removing barriers to access.
